Abstract: There is 54.12% Fe in a foreign limonite ore.Limonite mainly distributed in loose and porous gel,few distributed in block or oolitic form.Qualified iron concentrate will not obtained using neither single flotation nor gravity separation process. To provide technique basis for development of the ore, magnetization roasting-grinding-magnetic separation experiment was conducted, influence of roasting temperature, roasting time, bituminous coal dosage, grinding fineness, magnetic field intensity on index of concentrate were studied. Results indicated that at bituminous coal dosage of 15%,roasting temperature is 850 ℃,roasting time is 60 min, roasted products cooling in natural environment and ground to 90% -0.074 mm by ball mill, via low intensity magnetic separation at field intensity of 160 kA/m,The iron concentrate with iron grade of 64.54% and recovery of 86.05% was obtained.
