Iron Recovery by Deep Reduction-magnetic Separation of Tailings from Lunan Mining Company

Abstract: The iron grade of iron tailing is 19.19% in Lunan Mining Limited Company.Main impurity composition is SiO2,content of sulphur,phosphorus,etc.harmful element is low.Iron mainly exists in form of iron silicate,hematite-limpnite,with distribution rate of 47.36% and 33.10% respectively.Ideal indexes cannot be obtained by usual mineral processing methods.For the comprehensive development and utilization of the tailings,deep reduction and magnetic separation technology was carried out.It was showed that the optimum conditions are the sample amount is 100 g,assistant reducing agent CaO dosage is 20 g,reduction amount is 20 g,reductant temperature is 1 100℃,reductant time is 40 min,grinding fineness is 65% passing 0.043 mm,and magnetic field intensity is 110 kA/m,iron concentrate with iron grade and recovery of 91.48% and 86.24% was obtained.
