Abstract: To exploit and utilize the Ningxiang type high phosphorus oolitic hematite ore in western Hubei,a beneficiation test on iron increase and phosphorous reduction by many processes of inverse flotation, high intensity magnetic separation (HIMS),HIMS-inverse flotation and reduction roast-LIMS was carried out.The test shows that it is hard to effectively separate the ores with the conventional method.A good performance with an iron concentrate grading 92.34% at an 90.31% iron recovery bearing P less than 0.025% could be obtained by reduction roast-two stage grinding and low intensity magnetic separation with addition of dephosphorizer agent.
